A Special Guy Receives a Special Gift
At the Friend of the Jacksonville Public Library September board meeting our past president, Harry Reagan, received a special recognition of his service to FJPL and the Jacksonville Public Library system.
Board of Library Trustees Brenda Simmons-Hutchins and Mark Wood presented Harry with a unique, hand crafted, one of a kind wooden bowl. Harry was surprised and very pleased by the support and acknowledgement of his advocacy for the library.
Thank you Harry for all you have done and all that you are still doing.

2013 Volunteer Appreciation Lunch
One of FJPL’s favorite traditions is the annual Volunteer Appreciation Lunch. It’s a small token of our appreciation for the hard work our volunteers do.
This year the lunch was at Crab Creek Café and here’s the group photo.
At the lunch, Bill David receives FJPL’s Volunteer of the Year award for 2013 from FJPL President Harry Reagan. Bill volunteered to take on the job of electronic communications for us, sending email notices of upcoming book sales and other information our customers need. He also handles our new e-newsletters.

2015 Volunteer Appreciation Lunch
The FJPL volunteers had an appreciation luncheon on June 11 at Blue Bamboo Restaurant. The food was delicious and the conversation flowing as we finally had a chance to talk with each other in a relaxed and conducive setting. While we have a good time working at the warehouse it was really nice to be able to hear more about each other and our activities beyond book sorting.
